The theme of this newsletter is how our pets are similar to us and at the same time different!!
Bunnies
- For example, bunnies are different than us in that their teeth never stop growing! Bunnies are also crepuscular, which means they are most active during dawn and dusk, unlike us!
- But bunnies are similar to us in that they also do happy dances called binkies. Bunnies also love sweets like us. They love fruit and carrots because they are sweet. But unlike us, these are treats for them not a main staple of their daily diet.
Dogs
- Our beloved dogs are also the same and different than us. For example, did you know that dogs have three eyelids? This extra layer really protects their eyes.
- And, while we are talking about dogs, did you know that many ancient Greeks absolutely considered their dogs to be members of the family? There’s proof of this because there’s written evidence that dogs were called “foster child” and that dogs were given burials like humans!
- Another similarity about dogs is that they feel emotions like sadness, joy and even anger but unlike us, they cannot feel more complex emotions like embarrassment.
